Newcastle keeping tabs on Elanga as Almiron nears exit

Anthony Elanga, an attacker for Nottingham Forest, is being pursued by Newcastle United to replace Miguel Almiron, who is expected to leave.
Since January 2019, Newcastle has had Almiron on their roster. However, the Magpies have made the decision to let the Paraguayan go this summer as long as they can still obtain a competitive price for the 30-year-old. An unidentified Saudi Pro League team is interested in Almiron, and they’ll probably pay Newcastle more for the right winger than European teams would.

Newcastle boss Eddie Howe is keen to bring in an inverted winger to play on the right and Elanga fits the bill perfectly, having played that role for Nottingham Forest last season.
Elanga impressed during his debut season at the City Ground, putting in some exhilarating performances and chipping in with five goals and nine assists across 36 Premier League games.

Elanga has more than justified his original £15million price tag and played a key role in Forest remaining in the Premier League, but his great displays have alerted the attention of top-flight rivals.
Elanga, who spent the previous season playing in that position for Nottingham Forest, is the ideal candidate to fill Eddie Howe’s need for an inverted winger to play on the right for Newcastle.
Elanga made an impression in his first season at the City Ground, contributing five goals and nine assists in 36 Premier League appearances while putting up some thrilling performances.

Elanga has more than lived up to his initial £15 million price tag and has been instrumental in Forest’s survival in the Premier League; nonetheless, his outstanding performances have drawn the interest of top-tier competitors.
