Arsenal to Sign 18yr old goalkeeper

Tommy Setford, the goalkeeper for Ajax, is close to joining Arsenal, and his involvement in the team’s US tour is planned.

Arsenal and Ajax have reached a deal worth approximately €1 million, and the 18-year-old will significantly improve Arsenal’s goalkeeping unit.

Hein opened the closed-door friendly between Arsenal and Leyton Orient on Saturday.

Goals from Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Jesus gave the Gunners a 2-0 victory.

After playing for the first 70 minutes, Hein was replaced by rookie goalkeeper Lucas Nygaard, who recently joined Arsenal.

Setford had one year remaining on his contract and was unwilling to negotiate new ones, thus Ajax had wanted to keep him.

It is believed that his transfer to Arsenal is nearing completion, with the intention of completing it in time for him to join the team’s US trip.

The Gunners go off on Sunday and take on Bournemouth in their opening match on Wednesday.

After that, they had games against Liverpool and Manchester United before returning to the UK by plane.
