Douglas Luiz signs for Juventus in 42.5m euros deal

To conclude his time at Villa Park, the 26-year-old Brazilian has inked a five-year contract with the Serie A team.

Luiz, who has 15 caps for his nation, joined Villa in 2019 and in 204 games, he scored 22 goals. Villa acquired him from Manchester City.

The midfield player finished his Juventus medical and is presently playing for Brazil’s national team in the Copa America in the United States.

“I’m incredibly thrilled to be a Bianconero,” Luiz declared in a social media video.

“I’m very excited to play at Allianz Stadium. “Forza Juve and I’ll see you soon!”

Luiz finished fourth in the Premier League last season, helping Villa earn their first-ever Champions League qualification with nine goals in 35 games.
However, Villa was forced to cash in on one of their main players due to their urgent need to comply with the Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).

PSR regulations allow Premier League clubs to lose up to £105 million over a three-year period.

Tim Iroegbunam, a 21-year-old midfielder, was already sold by Villa to Everton for an estimated £9 million, and Chelsea has now paid £19 million for Omari Kellyman, an 18-year-old offensive midfielder.
