Man UTD make £30m offer for Barcelona Star

Fermin had a spectacular breakout season with Barcelona in 2023/24, scoring 11 goals and adding one assist in 40 games across all competitions.

His performance was noted, and he was nominated to Spain’s 26-man Euro 2024 team, after making his senior debut for La Roja in a friendly against Andorra this month.

According to Catalan outlet SPORT, Barcelona has rejected United’s offer of £25.4 million for Fermin. The Red Devils are thought to be looking for a technically gifted midfielder capable of crashing the box and scoring, and Fermin has been identified as a strong candidate.

United’s bid is the first Barcelona has received for the 21-year-old this summer, but they do not intend to sell him, especially at this price.

Over the last few years, Barcelona’s financial problems have been widely reported, still it would take a substantial amount for the Catalans to let go of one of their standouts performers from last season given he is a product of the acclaimed ‘La Masia’ academy.

The manager believes a player of the calibre of De Jong would have given his team much more balance and a higher success rate than he is achieved in his two years in charge.
