Borussia Dortmund have completed the signing of Marcel Sabitzer in a deal from Bayern Munich.

The midfielder made 18 appearances, scoring 3 goals in all competitions for Manchester United during his productive loan stint at Old Trafford during the second half of last season.

Sabitzer joins Dortmund, who last season lost the league crown to Bayern on goal differential after being held to a 2-2 home tie by Mainz on the final day of the campaign.

What Sabitzer said: “I can’t wait to finally join the team and wear the BVB jersey.

“The discussions with Borussia Dortmund’s managers were excellent and showed me how ambitious the club wants to be in the coming years.

“I would like to do my part to ensure that BVB achieves its goals and that it has every reason to celebrate something special with its fans again as soon as possible.”

Sabitzer signed a four-year contract that will keep him at Dortmund until 2027.

During his time at Bayern Munich, he made 40 appearances in all competitions, scoring just twice.
