Modric pens one year extension at Madrid

Since moving from Tottenham to Real Madrid in 2012, Modric, 38, has won 26 trophies, including six Champions Leagues and four domestic championships.

The 2018 Ballon d’Or winner has made appearances in 534 Los Blancos games while tallying 39 goals.

In 2023–24, the Croat participated in 46 games in all competitions, but he only made 23 starts.

Croatia placed third in their group and was eliminated from the competition. Modric started all three of Croatia’s games at Euro 2024.

Although the midfielder’s contract expired at the end of June, his continued presence will give manager Carlo Ancelotti a reliable source of expertise as he gets ready for his thirteenth season at the Bernabeu.

Real had already finalized Kylian’s high-profile signing.
In an effort to strengthen the fifteen-time European winners, teenager Endrick has also been called up from Brazilian team Palmeiras.
