According to Corriere Dello Sport, Newcastle United has launched a bid of £82 million for Napoli playmaker Khvicha Kvaratskhelia.

Kvaratskhelia played an important role in helping Napoli win the Italian Serie A last season, scoring 12 goals and providing 13 assists in 34 appearances.

It’s unclear how long the 22-year-old forward’s contract with Napoli is; however, some Italian media last month said he agreed to a one-year extension to carry him through to 2028. Manchester City, Arsenal, and Liverpool have all been connected with the forward.

What His Agent Said: “He has a long contract with Napoli, obviously there will be improvements but everything will happen when the season is over and we will meet the management. Anything else is written is false.

“There is our will and the will of the company to move forward together and find an agreement so that Kvara can continue in Naples with an improved contract.”

According to the report, Aurelio De Laurentiis, the president of Napoli, has not yet responded to Newcastle’s offer, which they are reportedly willing to extend to $100 million.

The probable transfer of Kvaratskhelia to Newcastle would be a setback for Jurgen Klopp, who is rumoured to be a major fan.
